The book
The entire restoration – from the moment that JUE 477 was extracted from the tumbledown stone barn, to the point when the keys were handed to the new owner has been documented in impressive detail.
At the same time, and over the course of two years, the history of chassis 860001 was painstakingly researched and slowly pieced together – the end result being a transparent and honest account of one vehicle's life and resurrection in the form of a large format book by classic car journalist and author, Martin Port: JUE 477 – The Remarkable History & Restoration of the World's First Production Land-Rover.
At the same time, a smaller, sister volume: A Restorer's Guide was produced as a limited edition publication for the new owner. This offers an extra insight into the restoration and unique approach to such an important and rare vehicle.
The main volume can be purchased direct from Porter Press International, and it is hoped that at some point in the future we may be able to offer a second, publicly available print run of the accompanying Restorer's Guide.
The 128-page book gives a full account of the vehicle's remarkable history and resurrection.
